Sometimes in my now almost meatless diet, I need the extra something for my O+ blood type.
I either satisfy it with kale, seeds or mushrooms, but when I come across the real deal: Organic Jamon Serrano, which my ancestors adored, I sometimes have to give in. Originally called the “ham from the sierra mountains”, it is similar to prosciutto. I use it to flavor my veggies. In particular brussels sprouts. Yummie, so here it goes:
quarter pound Organic Jamon Serrano
1 pound Brussels sprouts, washed, trimmed and cut in half
Slice Onions and sauté in 1 table spoon Cold pressed Olive oil, add diced Serrano ham for about 2 minutes. Add the Brussels Sprouts and about 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Let is simmer and wait till open halves of Brussel Sprouts get a nice brown color and voila you are done.
Serve and enjoy ❤
