Golden Milk is another great way to get the many health benefits of turmeric on a daily basis, along with the antioxidant power of ginger and black pepper.
Hidden deep in the turmeric plant’s bright yellow roots is an extraordinarily powerful compound called “curcumin” that has the unique ability to block an enzyme that causes inflammation, while combatting free radical damage to highly sensitive vital organs like your brain and heart. In fact, curcumin’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits can revolutionize your health from head to toe. Curcumin is so powerful it might really be the natural remedy of our times.
How to make it?
Start making a turmeric paste:
this is an easy prep in order to have it ready for creating your bedtime cuppa, and boiling it also brakes down the bitter taste:
in small saucepan mix :
1/2 cup of filtered water
1/4 cup tumeric powder
bring to a boil and simmer while stirring until you got the consistency of a paste.
Let it cool down and store in glas jar for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
Now you are ready to make your first cuppa of Golden Milk:
The original ayurvedic recipe calls for whole cow milk, however you can subsidize with almond or hemp milk.
This drink is calming for the mind and healing for the body. The pepper and ginger also increase digestion and circulation. A few other health properties of Golden Milk include: strengthens the bones, beneficial to anemia, increases your immunity and vitality, cleanses the blood and beautifies the complexion. I recommend to take this drink before bedtime to enhance a sound night of sleep.
